Enid Public Schools has been approved to receive $22 million for the construction of a new Eisenhower Elementary School located at Vance Air Force Base.
The grant was awarded on Friday, March 13 by the Department of War and will be used towards building the new elementary school, replacing the old building.
“Over the past three years, we have worked really hard on this Eisenhower Elementary project and I am extremely excited to get to this point,” said Enid Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Dudley Darrow. “This truly has been a collective effort from the Federal, State and Local representatives with the same common goal.”
The Department’s Public Schools on Military Installations Program chose Eisenhower based on facility capacity and the conditions of the school itself.
The project cost is estimated to be $28.2 million, with EPS responsible for 20% of the cost. Construction is scheduled to begin in the summer of 2026 and is expected to be completed in the spring of 2028.
