Assistant Director of Main Street Enid Taylor Blaiser Discusses the Return of First Friday

First Friday is making its grandiose return to downtown Enid, and Assistant Director for Main Street Enid, Taylor Blaiser, is here to talk about what is expected in this beloved event!

Blaiser started by talking about what is expected from the event.

“This one is going to be called ‘April First Friday Carnival,"” Blaiser said. “We have a ton of things happening at this one. We wanted it to be a fun theme that popped it off; what way better to celebrate it than a carnival…We will have a cakewalk happening on Grand (ave) and this will be volunteerly ran by Care Campus, and Sweets Of Enid have donated 30 desserts for us to give away. So you guys can go and do that for free!”

Blaiser continued about what was coming to the carnival and where the support is going.

“We have a dunk tank that we will be having also on Grand (ave)…you will be able to dunk people like Daylin Mcvey, Mayor David Mason, and a few other local favorites,” she said. “It’s gonna be $2 per dunk, $5 unlimited (dunks) until you knock ’em down, and it’s going to our History Maker Campaign. So all the funds that are raised from the dunk tank will go to local businesses to apply for facade grants.”

Blaiser finished off by talking about an update for vendors with First Friday.

“We are welcoming you (vendors) back to First Friday, however, we will not be using the Courthouse lawn this year, they will need to get in touch with a downtown business owner, and they will be able to set up outside of the business,” Blaiser said. “They just need to go to mainstreetenid.org and click on the First Friday tab, and fill out the little form just so that we can stay safe with the Oklahoma Tax Commission and the State of Oklahoma.
