OSDH Backlog Adds 20 Additional COVID-related Deaths to NW Oklahoma Total

(Enid, OK) The OSDH reports 20 Northwest Oklahomans, including seven in Enid and one in Waukomis, were included in the 373 COVID-related deaths this past week.

OSDH has stated that the increase in the numbers of COVID-related deaths comes “as an ongoing effort to investigate and reconcile backlog of COVID-19-related deaths.”

Oklahoma gained 1,008 COVID-19 cases in the past week with overall cases in Garfield County increasing by three in the past week for a total of 7,809, with five cases being active.

Of Garfield county’s 139 deaths, 128 have been in Enid, according to OSDH city data, with five in Lahoma, one each in Waukomis, Fairmont, Drummond, Garber and Covington and one not listed by town. Weekly case increases in other Northwest Oklahoma counties included one in Blaine, one in Woodward and one in Major County.

Other Northwest Oklahoma counties with reported deaths included three in Kingfisher, three in Major, one each in Woods, Alfalfa, Noble, Blaine, Grant, and Woodward.
