The Pioneer Skeleton Creek Volunteer Fire Department is hosting its annual Hog Roast on Saturday, July 11, from 5:30-8 p.m.

Gather in the Pioneer High School cafeteria for an evening full of fellowship. Indulge in some pulled pork with all the fixin’s, take part in the silent auction and stick around for the door prizes. The event has something for everyone. Be sure to bring your friends and family.

CTB Sports Director Derek Darr sat down with Gary Clickner from the fire department to discuss the event.

Clickner began by sharing how much pork they have ready for everyone.

“This year we’re doing the same thing,” Clickner said. “We’ve got our pork butt ordered and our corn on the cob [for] our smokers. We’ve got about 500 lbs of pork…we need help coming down and eating it.”

“It’s a good social event for everybody. Everybody just loves to get out there and visit. It’s kind of like a class reunion, but we’re always making new friends every year. We’ve been doing this, I believe this is probably the 25th one that we’ve done…but it’s just a lot of fun [and] camaraderie.”
