State Sees 1.6k New COVID-19 Cases, 4 NW Oklahoma Residents Reported Among Deaths

(Enid, OK) Oklahoma reported 1,677 new cases of COVID-19 alongside 48 COVID-19-related deaths statewide including four NW Oklahomans, one from Enid and three from Fairview, on Thursday by Oklahoma State Department of Health.

Garfield County’s COVID-19 cases increased by 38 on Thursday for an overall total of 7,305 since the pandemic started, with 349 of the cases being active.

Of the 48 deaths statewide, 41 were in the 65 and older age group including two men and five women in Tulsa County; three Major County men; two men and three women in Oklahoma County; two men and one woman in Cleveland County; two Garvin County men; two women each in Muskogee and Wagoner counties; one man each and one woman each in Creek, Coal and Pottawatomie counties; one man each in Dewey, Beckham, Roger Mills, Comanche, Noble, Custer, Stephens and Ottawa counties; and one woman each in Carter, Mayes, and Lincoln counties

Seven of the deaths were in the 50-64 age group including men in Garfield, Oklahoma and Seminole counties and women in Kay, Adair, McCurtain, Mayes and Payne counties.

There have been 3,948 deaths in the state in which COVID-19 was the cause or a contributing factor, according to the OSDH.

Other county case increases Northwest Oklahoma on Thursday included nine in Woodward, seven in Major, six in Kingfisher, two each in Grant and Woods and one in Noble.
