State Sees 1,070 New COVID-19 Cases, 53 Deaths Also Reported by the OSDH

(Enid, OK) The state saw 1,070 new COVID-19 cases and 53 more deaths, including a Wakita woman, two Kingfisher women and a man and a woman from Woods County, on Tuesday, according Oklahoma State Department of Health.

COVID-19 cases in Garfield County increased by seven for a total of 7,252 overall, with 374 active cases as of Tuesday.

There have been 3,870 deaths in the state in which COVID-19 was the cause or a contributing factor, OSDH reported.

Of the 53 deaths, 45 were in the 65 and older age group including seven men and four women in Oklahoma County, two men each and two women each in Tulsa, Canadian, and Grady counties; three Lincoln County men; two women each in Kingfisher and Beaver counties; one man and one woman in Cleveland County; one man and two women in Carter County; one man each in Okfuskee, Rogers, Woods and Jackson counties; and one woman each in Kay, Delaware, Comanche, Washington, Grant, and Stephens counties.

Five of the deaths were in the 50-64 age group including two Oklahoma County women, one woman each in Woods and Kay counties and a Greer County man. The remaining three deaths were a a Cleveland County man, a Woods County woman and a Canadian County woman.

Other Northwest Oklahoma county case increases Tuesday included six in Kingfisher, four in Blaine, three in Noble, two each in Grant, Woods and Alfalfa and one in Woodward County.
