The services celebrating and honoring the life of Betty Lou (Keplinger) Swiggart, 88, of Enid will be held 10:00 A.M. Friday June 12, 2026, in the Trinity Baptist Church with Pastor Jesse Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings A life celebration home.
Betty was born September 27, 1937, to William “Bill” and Lucy (Klippel) Keplinger in McAlester, Oklahoma and passed from this life June 7, 2026, in Enid, Oklahoma.
She was raised and educated in McAlester, Oklahoma graduating from McAlester High School with the class of 1955. She began working in a pharmacy where she met her husband, J.R. Swiggart. The couple were married August 20, 1956, in McAlister, Oklahoma. The couple moved to California, Oklahoma City and finally Enid, where they made their home. She babysat and sewed while raising her children. She later worked at Lincoln Elementary School in the Cafeteria for many years. She had great love for all children and was known affectionately to many as Aunt Betty. She never let anyone go hungry. She loved to work with her hands crocheting, knitting and sewing and enjoyed dancing to country music and going shows in Branson, Missouri.
She is survived by her children, Cheryl Swiggart, of Enid, Debbie Ruppenthal and husband Boyd, of Lahoma, Stephannie Wahl, of Enid, and Russell Swiggart and wife Tammy, of Edmond, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren, Chris and Jason Mongold, Ellia Hoskins, Josh Wahl, and Rahndi, Olivia, and Avery Swiggart; and two great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband J.R. Swiggart, and one son Michael Swiggart.
Memorials may be made in her honor to St. Jude’s Children’s with Brown-Cummings, A life celebration home, serving as custodian of the funds.
