Charles “Chuck” M. Pritchett
1942 - 2026

Charles “Chuck” M. Pritchett was born December 6, 1942, at St. Francis Hospital at Wichita, Kansas, to Carl and Jaunita V. Pritchett. He passed away surrounded by his family on Sunday, June 21, 2026 in Ponca City, Oklahoma.

He is survived by his wife Joanne E. of Ponca City, daughter Cara E. Bodick (Rob) of Ponca City, granddaughters Cadence Mckaylyn and Delaney Reese Jackson of Ponca City, step daughter Lori Shannon (Mike) of Guymon, OK, step son Shane Blakesley of Peru, Kansas; step granddaughter Megan Barton of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Cousins George Harris, Kyle Rhode of Florida, Steven Rhode of Ponca City.

Chuck graduated from West High School, Wichita, Kansas, and received his Bachelor of Science in business from Emporia State Teacher College, 1964. In 1975 he received his Masters in Business Administration-Finance, from Oklahoma City University.

Drafted into the Army in August 1965, Chuck was commissioned 2nd LT. at Fort Benning, Georga in January 1967 as a finance officer. He was cash control officer of the Training Center at Ft. Bragg, North Carolina, then he went to Long Bihn Post in Vietnam in 1968. Chuck was discharged at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma in 1968.

He was employed at St. Mary’s Hospital in 1968 as the credit manager until 1974 when he was promoted to office manager until 1982. He also served as Hospital Administrator reopening E.P. Clapper Memorial Hospital in Waynoka, Oklahoma in 1975 and 1976. He then worked for a short time in wholesale electronics and then was employed with the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, Enid Family Medicine Clinic as Clinic Manager from 1984 to 2005.

Chuck enjoyed family, fishing, hunting, woodworking and golf. He was an avid “Corvette’r” and loved all kinds of cars. He was active in the Central Christian Church as a deacon and elder serving on various committees and ministries He loved his Lord and attended the “Walk to Emmaus”. After retirement he and Joanne, along with many Corvette friends enjoyed many trips.

Celebration of life service will be Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at 2:00 pm in Central Christian Church with burial to follow with military honors in Waukomis Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation with the family will be Monday evening from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Anderson-Burris.
