Funeral service for Clora Patocka, 86, will be Saturday, October 17, 2026 at 2:00 pm in Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Tom LeGrand officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Clora was born on November 1, 1939 in Stuart, Oklahoma to Ralph and Della (Reeves) Brown and passed away October 12, 2026 in Oklahoma City with her family by her side.
She grew up in Stuart and graduated from Stuart High School. Clora and her twin sister, Lora came to Enid in 1957, to Enid General Hospital to obtain their nursing degrees. On June 25, 1960, she married William “Bill” Patocka in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hennessey. They made their home in Enid. Clora worked for several years with Garfield Health Department and later Bass Hospital, retiring after 41 years. All people die, not all people lived. Clora Lived! Bags ready to go as long as it included a fishing hole and a place where she could appreciate the serenity of nature. However… when she needed a break from serenity, she would look for casino with bright lights, sounds of machines going crazy. Hoping it was her machine causing all that noise- you can bet that was only time she wasn’t yelling for Bill to come fix that noisy thing! Clora was born with a competitive demeanor. She was fierce in fastpitch softball and pitching horseshoes. Two and half years that feisty spirit caught and captured the heart of another. Rather than compete, he proposed and for 66 years, they had a beautiful and powerful marriage. During that 66 years, Clora learned when and how to become a good strategist. She know how to out fox the fox! When she wanted something, before Bill knew it, he was giving her that and more! Her strength and weakness was the love of her family. She loved like no other, and out of weakness the love was beautiful! Clora could never say no to those fortunate to experience that kind of love.
Time started to change, but she had even a greater appreciation of the outdoors. You could see her sitting on the porch gliding to sounds of nature, looking at her own creation. On of her most cherished times was sitting with a special person watching butterflies, admiring the beauty, the elegance and cherishing just how blessed she was. She loved her family, but when grandkids and great grandkids came along, she melted. Her strength never gone, but used strength to love even more.
Clora’s competitive nature ended the way it started- when born, she wasn’t expected to survived, however, a nurse did not give up on her. Because of that, she dedicated her occupation to nursing.
In the journey, she fought harder, her inner strength beyond amazing. Doctors and nurses quickly found a special place in their hearts for her! They couldn’t help but to respect and love her. She was authentic and melted their hearts. It was time, Lord’s time, Clora was to now receiver her reward. The greatest reward one can receive and she taught us that real strength means love, and Lora “Mom” you are so loved.
She was preceded in death by her parents; twin sister, Lora Mae Reddick; sister, Nancy Kinslow; grandson, Logan Wales.
Clora is survived by her husband, Bill; daughters and their husbands, Tammy and George Wales and Kimberly and Michael Johnson; three grandchildren and spouses, Austin and Morgan Patocka, Garrett and Alexis Wales, Hailey and Tristan Williamson; seven great grandchildren, Hunter, Kolt, Nixxon and Knoxlin Patocka, Griffin, Cohen, and Sutton Wales; brother, Benny Brown; sisters, Patricia Wimberly and Sherry Howell; many other relatives and friends.
