Earl Whitley passed away on September 18, 2026. He was born on February 7, 1943 to Jewell and Sylvia (Smith) Whitley in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.
Growing up he lived on a farm around the Great Salt Plains area with his family for a while, before moving to Enid, where he went to work on Vance AFB. After a short 52 years, he wasn’t sure if he wanted to make a career out of it, so he retired, but kept himself busy with multiple DIY projects.
Earl married early on and had two sons, Earl Whitley Jr., and Leroy Whitley. After getting divorced, Earl raised his children himself.
Earl is preceded in death by his parents, Jewell Whitley, and Sylvia (Smith) Whitley. His two sons, Earl Jr., and Leroy; three brothers Ray Whitley, Robert Whitley, and Jewell (Jay) Whitley.He is survived by two brothers, James (Jim) Whitley, and Melvin Whitley; four grandchildren, Haley Whitley, Dylan Whitley, Heidi Whitehorse, Todd Joseph Whitley. Several Great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A visitation celebrating Earl will be from 6 pm to 8 pm, at Amy Sttittsworth Funeral Service on Thursday September 24, 2026.
A Graveside service will be held in honor of Earl on Friday September 25, 2026 at 10AM in the Garden Chapel at Memorial Park Cemetery.
