A Memorial Service for Eldon Lee Gritz, 79, of Drummond will be at 2:00 pm, Saturday July 11, 2026, at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel. Cremation and arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home & Crematory.
Eldon was born on June 25, 1947, in Enid, to Raymond and Pansy (Harris) Gritz and passed away at his home on July 4, 2026.
He attended high school at Enid High School and graduated in 1965. He then attended Temple Jr College in Temple, TX and Phillips University in Enid. He got drafted for the United States Army, served in Vietnam, and was later stationed at Fort Lewis, Washington. Eldon married Patsy Camp on August 13, 1966, in Belton, Texas and together they had two sons, Chad and Janelle Gritz of Yukon, OK and Trent Gritz of Hobbs, NM. Eldon worked for Groendyke Transport after leaving the Army and then went on to work at AT&T as a technician. He retired from AT&T after 38 years of service. Eldon was also an officer with Communication Workers of America Local 6007.
Eldon is survived by his wife, Patsy Gritz; his two sons Chad (Janelle) Gritz and Trent Gritz; brother Ken Gritz; grandchildren Bryson (Morgan) Gritz, Braylee Gritz, and Megyn Huggins; and one great-grandchild, Crew Gritz.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Pansy Gritz and his sister, Sylvia Vance.
