Ellen Louise Curtis
1934 - 2026

Ellen Louise Stucki Curtis was born September 7,1934, to Leo and Juanita Stucki on the family farm near Loyal, Oklahoma. She was the oldest of four children. Soon after graduating from Loyal High School in 1952, Ellen oved to Enid, Oklahoma to begin a 33-year career at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. On September 24,1955, Ellen married Wayne Curtis. To this union, two children were born. Jeffery Paul in 1960 and Jana Elizabeth in 1966.

After retiring from Southwestern Bell, Ellen managed Burgundy Place in Enid, finally retiring in 1999. In 2009, Ellen became a proud grandmother to her only grandchild Paige.
Ellen enjoyed reading books, and meeting with her close circle of friends for coffee or a meal. Ellen was a charter member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, Enid. She was also a member of St. Gregory’s Alter Society, and Telephone Pioneers of America.

In July of 2024, Ellen moved to Statesville, North Carolina, to live with Jana and her family. After a brief illness, Ellen passed away peacefully, on Thursday, August 20,2026, surrounded by family.

Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother James.

She is survived by her son Jeff and wife Jill Curtis of Okarche, OK, her daughter Jana and husband Kent Suthers and granddaughter Paige of Statesville, NC; A sister, Annette Stewart of Enid; a brother Francis Stucki and wife Vicki of Yukon; and many nieces and nephews and their families.

Graveside service will be at a later date in Calvary Cemetery, Hennessey, Oklahoma under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory, Enid.

Memorials may be made through Anderson-Burris to Our Daily Bread, Enid, OK or Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation-Heart division.
