1934 - 2026
Eugene Eck, of Enid, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully in his sleep, surrounded by family, on September 16, 2026 at the age of 92.
He was born April 7, 1934, in his grandmother's farmhouse in Goltry, Oklahoma to Roy and Gustena Eck. He attended school in Goltry and grew up working on his grandparents’ farm.
Eugene was a longtime member of the Enid Mennonite Brethren Church. He spent his working life serving the Enid community. He worked for George E. Failing, served with the Enid Fire Department from 1966 to 1987, and drove school buses and charter buses for Enid Public Schools for 20 years. He also helped his father-in-law at Enid Cemetery, contracted for Speedstar, owned a cleaning service, and was a self-employed contractor and roofer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Gustena Eck, and his brother David Eck.
Eugene is survived by his four daughters; Pamela Arsenault (Tony) of Edmond, Oklahoma, Kathleen Windler of Owasso, Oklahoma, Sandra Milacek of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Julie Arnold (Johnny) of Franklin, Tennessee; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; and his brothers Edwin, Richard, and Eldon Eck, and his sister Linda Neufeld.
