Funeral service for Layden Cartmell, 17 of Kremlin, will be 10:00 am Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at Kremlin-Hillsdale High School Gym with Matt McMullin and Quintin Wray officiating. Burial will be at 2:30 pm in the Highland Cemetery, Pawnee, Oklahoma, with a reception following the burial at Pawnee Bill Memorial Rodeo Event Center. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 7:00 pm at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.
Layden was born on November 12, 2008, in Stillwater, Oklahoma to Doug and Nicole (Thrasher) Cartmell and passed away November 24, 2025, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
He grew up in Kremlin and was a junior at Kremlin-Hillsdale High School. Layden loved hanging with his boys and wrestling with his brothers. He played Basketball, Football and was in Band. Layden was active in FFA, FCA, trap shooting and showing pigs. He especially loved showing the Yorkshires.
He was preceded in death by his uncle, Jason Thrasher.
Layden is survived by his parents, Doug and Nicole Cartmell, brothers, Devlynn and Waylen Cartmell, all of the home; grandparents, Pete and Janet Thrasher and David and Judy Cartmell both from Pawnee, Oklahoma; uncles Curtis Pinkerton and husband, Manny Niebla from Atlanta, Georgia, and Dwayne and wife Pam Cartmell from Perkins, Oklahoma; aunt and husband, Machelle and Scott Linsenmeyer from Alderson, West Virginia; numerous family and friends.
Memorials may be made through Anderson-Burris to Kremlin-Hillsdale High School.
