Monica Margaret Mulrooney Stittsworth, 95, Ada resident, was born on December 21, 1930 in Cornerbrook Newfoundland, Canada and passed away peacefully on October 6, 2026 in Ada, She was raised in Cornerbrook, later marrying the love of her life Sgt Bill Stittsworth in Cornerbrook. They moved to Oklahoma where she was a full time homemaker and dad worked for Arnold Moore Funeral Service in Bartlesville. Monica made sure her children knew she loved them. Three hots daily. Christmas was unbelievable. How could Mom and Dad purchase presents for all six children. She was so positive. Later, they moved to Ada where dad worked for Criswell Funeral Home and mom continued as homemaker. Sunday’s was church day. All the kinds took turns “Putting the thing in the basket” (Offitory). Dad would bring home an advertisement ruler for mom to use. It was A Frane, 12 inches long and would smart if it was used on us. If we would get out of line, she would yell out “I am going to get the stick out!” that is all it took for us to behave. Monica loved to help serve funeral dinners at the church. She leaves behind her children, Carol Combs of Dewey, Jocelyn Speiers of Ada, Susan Whitson of Ardmore, Bill (Amy) Stittsworth of Enid. Grandchildren, Jonathan, Erin, Mitchell, Matt Blake, Reid, Derrick, Dustin, Brandon, Nathan, Cameron, Adam and Emily. Monica was preceded in passing by her parents, siblings, husband Bill, and daughter Diana.
