Terry LaQueta Kennedy
1944 - 2026

Terry LaQueta Savage Shuffield Kennedy, after living a great exciting life, left to join her beloved family and friends on February 22, 2026. Terry was born on January 14,1944 to Orvile and Helen Savage at Polyclinic Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. After moving to Texas in 1956, Terry attended Stinnett High School where she received numerous academic accolades.

After moving to Pampa, Texas she started working at the bra factory named Marie Foundation.

Then after moving to Amarillo, she went to work at Levi Strauss for eight years. She then moved to Fairfax, Oklahoma, working at the Osage Sewing Factory in Pawhuska, Oklahoma, a US Census intake worker, and then went to work as a Security Guard at the Phillips/Conoco Plant in Ponca City, Oklahoma in 1988. Upon her retirement in 2024 she moved to Enid, Oklahoma.

Terry not only loved her family, but she also enjoyed yelling at the Dallas Cowboys, rooting on the Oklahoma Lady Sooners, Oklahoma State Lady Cowboys, and Texas Lady Longhorns in all sports, and NASCAR. She also enjoyed rooting for her fantasy teams, the Longshots, and spending time at the casino with her children.

Terry is preceded in death by both her parents, her sisters Karen Kay and Glenda Rae, her brother Kenton Savage, a son Lance Allen Shuffield, and her two husbands, Jerry Shuffield and Bunny Kennedy and great grandson Coty Valencia and her canine husbands Rudy and Cowboy.

Left behind to enjoy their memories together are her son Jesse Shuffield and his wife Kathy of Borger, Texas, her daughter Christy Hand and her husband Bobby of Enid, Oklahoma, granddaughter Natasha and husband Nick Hernandez, and their son Lucas of Borger and the only man that she could understand and tolerate, her African Grey parrot Magellan. Also in her close family were stepsons Jimmy Kennedy and his wife Linda of Aztec, New Mexico, Timothy Kennedy of Dayton, Nevada, grandchildren Bunny Gale Valencia and husband Dan and their children Shaylee and Pepper of Durango, Colorado, Robin Eklund and husband Dustin and their children Dylan, Tessa, and Wyatt of Phoenix, Arizona, and Allen Kennedy of Missoula, Montana, Caleb Hand and son Parker of El Reno, Oklahoma and Constance Hand and daughter Aubrey of .Topeka, Kansas. She also had a large extended family that are too numerous to mention. The family also wants to extend a heartfelt “Thank You” to Sara RN of Traditions Hospice.

Terry had a tremendous green thumb, a love of reading, and her tremendous baking skills were legendary. She would bake goodies each month for special occasions and treat all of her contractor clients out of her red cooler.

Services will be held  at 1:00 pm, Saturday, March 14, 2026 at Memorial Park Cemetery in Edmond, Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers the family requests that you visit your favorite casino and place a bet in Terry’s memory. The family wishes you the best of luck.
