Cashion Wildcats Defeat Rivals Crescent in Girls and Boys Basketball Action

The Cashion Wildcats had a huge pair of victories on Tuesday night over the Crescent Tigers, the girls defeated Crescent 73-37, while the boys had a great night as well winning 59-40. The Lady Wildcats pulled away in the 2nd quarter after a scrappy and young Crescent team kept things close in the 1st quarter. It was all Cashion from there as their 2 leading scorers Megan Shaffer and Lauren Jenkins started to dominate the game.

Jenkins finished with 19 points while Shafer was incredible with 23 points. Aja Adams-House had 19 points in the losing effort for her squad The 2 teams will rematch each other in the district championships next week.

Cashion jumped out to a lead early in boys’ action and never looked back. The Tigers struggled to score in the 1st half and were often outrebounded by a much smaller Cashion team. Anthony Wilburn led the way with 17 points while Nathan Nabari had 14 points. In the losing effort for Crescent Colby Watson led the way with 8 points. Crescent will have a chance to avenge themselves on the road against Cashion next week.
