In this interview, CTB Sports Director Derek Darr sat down with Enid Head Softball Coach Chris Jensen to talk about the upcoming Softball State Tournament.

The coach began by sharing what has led to the team’s success this year:

“A combination of things. We have some great senior leadership for the team and the underclassmen, and we’ve had some phenomenal innings in the circle with all three of our pitchers. But I would say the biggest thing is probably that we have some great hitters, one through nine, and on any given day, some step up and tend to get that big hit or that two-out RBI hit. And that’s been a lot of our success this year.”

Coach Jensen recapped previous games and how it’ll help the Pacers play in the tournament:

“Choctaw is in the state tournament. We’ve played them twice in our district, and those were two really close games: one-zero and two-to-one. We were also able to play Piedmont once before, who was our first-round opponent this year. We also [played] Mustang in the last game of the season at the Oklahoma Christian Softball Festival. So we’ve had some experience playing three of the teams in the state tournament, and they were really good games.”
