Enid Plainsmen Garrett Shull has added another accomplishment to his collection by being named the Oklahoma Large School Player of the Year by the Oklahoma Baseball Coaches Association. Shull had an incredible season, helping to power the Plainsmen to the Class 6A State Championship game.

Shull was reliable as the lead-off hitter nearly always getting the Plainsmen offense off to a strong start. Shull was also dangerous on the bases making opposing teams pay with steals when they let him on base.

Shull was also phenomenal defensively all season, stopping runners from advancing extra bases due to the threat of his great arm. He also did an excellent job reading the ball off the bat always seeming to know right where the ball would drop.

Shull has been a standout for the Plainsmen since his Freshman year and is an Oklahoma State Baseball commit he hopes to join teammate Jake Kennedy next season if he doesn’t get his name called early in the Major League Baseball draft, a possibly since Shull has already received several visits from MLB scouts this fall.
