Former CTB Sports broadcaster Tom Nelson passed away after a battle with cancer, according to multiple sources, on Friday, August 28th. Tom Nelson worked for CTB Sports for over 10 years and brought joy to thousands of fans with his knowledge and passion for NW Oklahoma sports and his iconic voice.
Tom Nelson contributed greatly to CTB Sports over the years, calling games and even helping to pioneer the CTB Sports All- Star Banquet for Football and boys and girls basketball, which has continued to honor area athletes and coaches for over 15 years.
After his departure from CTB Sports full-time, Tom continued to broadcast and PA announce high school and college sports, and his iconic voice lives on in his program, Gametime, which plays music pregame and announces rules at high schools across the country.
The services celebrating and honoring the life of Tom Nelson, 59, of Enid, will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, September 8, 2026, in the First Methodist Church.
