In this interview, CTB Sports Director Derek Darr sat down with Garber Head Boys Basketball Coach Cade Upshaw to discuss playoffs.
The coach began by sharing his appreciation of the growth of the Wolverines:
“We are super young, we start two sophomores and a junior, and it’s been fun watching them grow. They’ve gotten so much better. We know they were talented at the beginning, but it’s hard to get that experience and just be in those moments….”
Coach Upshaw highlighted the difficulty of facing high-ranked schools and what has led the team to keep improving:
“We’ve known our schedule [was] tough. We play bigger schools, highly ranked. We play…2A, 3A schools. And our tournament is just loaded. So our motto throughout the year was ‘let’s focus on the day and try and get better every day’…It’s been fun coaching this group, so I’m excited for the playoffs and [to] see what can happen.”
