St. Louis Cardinals

The Cardinals are off to a 4-4 start to the season, they got off to a rough start to the year winning only 1 game in a 4-game series with the Dodgers, however, the Cardinals can hardly be faulted for dropping a tough series to the toughest team in baseball. All 4 games were also on the road. St. Louis then managed to take 2 of 3 games from the Padres all still on the road. They also picked up a win in their 1st home of the year even if it was against the worst team in baseball. Brendan Donovan leads the team batting .308 on the year. While the Cardinal’s record is nothing to brag about, given the circumstances I’ll give them a B.

Grade: B

Kansas City Royals

While a 3-4 record wouldn’t be great for most teams expectations are a little different for the Royals faithful who have had to endure some miserable seasons in past years including losing over 100 games last season. The season didn’t start great with the Royals dropping 2 of 3 games to their Division rivals the Minnesota Twins. They then dropped 2 of 3 to the Orioles before defeating the Chicago White Sox. Even though they have yet to win a series, the Royals have shown improvement from last season, Bobby Witt JR is playing incredible hitting.429 on the year. Signs of life for the Royals I’ll give them a B.

Grade: B

Texas Rangers

The defending World Series Champions are off to a strong start to the year going 4-2 in their 1st six games. The wins included a series victory over the Tampa Bay Rays who had the best record in Baseball last season. Josh Jung is having another incredible year hitting .412 on the season and teammate Jared Walsh is not far behind hitting .381.
