Whaetley Chaloupek off to a Hot Start as Plainsmen Split Opening Series 1-1 With Tulsa Union

The Enid Plainsmen split their opening series with District Rival Tulsa Union 1-1, Union defeated Enid 1-1 at Union in the game while Enid answered back with a 7-3 win in the home opener at David Allen Memorial Ballpark.

Bennett Percival pitched a great game for the Plainsmen on night 1 however the offense struggled to produce runs. The only 2 Plainsmen to get hits were Cooper Jarnagin and Whaetley Chaloupek who hit 2 doubles.

The next night in the home opener the offense was back in form scoring 7 runs, Chaloupek kept up his strong start going 2/3 on the night. Seth Carlson had 6 K’s in his 1st start of the year. Carlson has worked hard in the offseason improving his velocity and he can now throw 92 mph. Carlson is looking to have a big Senior season after a strong Sophomore campaign and his Junior year was derailed by a back injury.
