Listen to the game on CTB Sports 1390,1640 am/ The CTB Sports App and Enidlive.com at 10:30 am on Wednesday, February 28th.

Kevin Lewallen, the Head Coach of the Lomega Lady Raiders spoke with CTB Sports about their upcoming trip to the State Tournament. Lomega is having another incredible season, they are currently ranked #2 in Class B and have a 27-2 record.

The Lady Raiders are dominating postseason basketball winning by an average of 41.25 points this postseason. Despite playing the #20 and #10 ranked teams in Class B Lomega will be taking on Kiowa in the State Quarterfinals in a rematch of the 2021 State Championship Game which Lomega won.

This was the most recent State Championship win for Lomega who lost in the finals in 2022 and 2023. Kiowa is 24-8 on the year and made it to State through the consolation bracket after an early loss in Regionals to #8 Pittsburgh. They got revenge on Pittsburg in the Area Consolation Finals where they eliminated them.

Coach Lewallen spoke about some challenges Kiowa will present noting their size advantage. Lewallen hopes to counter this by speeding the game up. There is also extra motivation for the Lady Raiders to win the Gold Ball this year as this is their last chance to win another State Championship in the original Big House.

Coach Lewallen also believes that his depth gives him advantage over other teams in the field since the Lady Raiders rely on multiple players and not just 1 or 2 girls.
