In this interview, CTB News Director Colby Talley sat down with the Medford Head Football Coach, Blake Lamle, to discuss the upcoming Grant County War against Pond Creek-Hunter.
The coach started by discussing how important the game is to him.
“It’s huge…me being a Medford graduate, it’s a huge deal because this has been such a rivalry for such a long period of time. But for us, it comes down to, [like] we said at the beginning of the year, that we had to do better in our non-district schedule. We picked up Cyril, got beat zero week. Cyril was a good team-bounced back against Covington, got a good win there…but [the] bigger picture for us is we need to take that next step and continue to improve on our non-district play.”
Coach Lamle briefly reviewed the game plan against PC-H.
“Just do the things that make us a good team. Play fast, play with a lot of energy. We haven’t made a whole lot of changes in things in the last couple of years. We found a system that we like and that our kids really can relate to. So again, just go out there and be athletic and play fast.”
