In this interview, CTB Sports Director Derek Darr sat down with the Medford Head Football Coach, Blake Lamle, to discuss the State Championship matchup against Ryan.
The coach talked about what to expect from Ryan in this championship round:
“Same kind of stuff as last year. Quarterback-featured run game. Torres kid’s a great player. He’s got outstanding speed, size, and shiftiness. [The] offensive line’s big and strong. So, they’re kind of a carbon copy of what they were last year.”
Coach Lamle shared how high the locker room energy is for this exciting season:
“I’ve been fortunate as a coach to have been in this situation a few times, and I can honestly say this has been my favorite of the runs just because it was like yesterday at practice. I don’t know what I’ve lost count of counting the preseason stuff. I’ve lost count of which week it is, but our kids are still out there hopping around and just having fun playing football and having fun being with each other.
When you’ve been doing something since late August and it’s into December, that’s a long year, but they’re still having fun. They’re still [being] with each other. So it’s really a neat atmosphere for us.”
