It was a great Class A and B State Basketball Tournament for Northwest Oklahoma! For the boys Drummond, Seiling, and Okarche each qualified for the state tournament, while for the girls OBA, Seiling, Lomega, and Dover each qualified.

Overall Northwest Oklahoma brought home 3 of 4 Gold Balls and 1 Silver Ball in a fantastic tournament. Here is how each team did.

The Seiling Lady Wildcats brought home their 3rd straight State Championship defeating OBA 64-46 in the Class A State Championship. Seiling has won 7 of the last 8 state titles and it was a dominant showing for them winning all their postseason games by large margins. In the quarterfinals, they defeated #5 Allen 85-37; in the semifinals, they defeated #3 Quinton 55-36. Finally, in the State Championship game, they defeated OBA 64-46. Seniors Braci Nyberg, Kenly Gore, and Areyanha Whetstone were incredible offensively and defensively. Nyberg a 2000-point scorer in her career is even more impressive on defense.

The Okarche Warriors also hoisted the Gold Ball winning 56-38 over #5 Caddo. Jett Mueggenborg had a great state tournament, while Hunter Mueggenborg scored 13 and held Caddo’s leading scorer DJ Dill to 6 points. Okarche’s great conditioning also paid off as they still looked fresh on days 2 and 3 of the tournament while other teams looked tired.

Okarche defeated Rattan 63-54 in the quarterfinals avenging their loss in the quarterfinals from a year ago. Next Okarche defeated Sentinel 91-39 in a dominant performance. They capped it off with a huge victory over Caddo.

The Lomega Lady Warriors had a great tournament winning their 16th Gold Ball Senior Abby Swart was incredible leading the way for the Lady Raiders, they defeated the Lookeba-Sickles Lady Panthers 53-45. Lomega also defeated Kiowa 52-41 and got revenge on Hammon in the rematch of the 2023 State Championship game-winning 57-56. Alaina Lawson hit the go-ahead free throw at the end of the game.

The Oklahoma Bible Academy Lady Trojans had a great tournament winning the Silver Ball, they were defeated by Seiling in the State Championship Game 64-46. OBA defeated Cyril in the 1st round 54-36, then defeated #2 Caddo 53-40. The Lady Trojans had a great tournament before running into a great team. The good news is OBA has no seniors and should bring all these girls back.

The Seiling Wildcats had a strong tournament as well making it to the semifinals before being eliminated by Caddo 54-35. Seiling had one of the biggest moments of the tournament knocking off #1 Okay with a buzzer-beater by Kaden Manuel.

The Dover Lady Longhorns got off to a strong start beating Turner 62-51, they also led Lookeba Sickles at the half of the semifinals, but the offense stalled out leading to an earlier-than-expected elimination for the Lady Longhorns.

The Drummond Bulldogs had a great season making it to the state tournament for the 2nd year in a row. Drummond had a bad shooting night against one of the toughest defensive teams in the state in Caddo losing 60-40
