The Enid Plainsmen defeated Ponca City 13-3 in a 5-inning run rule in a Monday night home game at David Allen Memorial Ballpark. The Plainsmen got off to a rough start having some errors and allowing some early runs by Ponca City. However, the Plainsmen rallied and took advantage of some sloppy Ponca City defense to go on a run.

Whaetley Chaloupek got the Plainsmen started with a 2-run bomb to right field hit about 330 ft. While Tyson Kennedy had a great day at the plate recording a single and a Triple.

Cooper Jarnagin was 1-1 after being walked 3 times and ended the game on a walk-off hit to right field that sealed the run-rule in the bottom of the 5th inning.

Enid improved to 12-9 on the year while Ponca City fell to 2-12 on the year. The Plainsmen next have a road trip game against Ponca City that should prove to be a tougher test than last night’s game. Brody Wicker is expected to be on the mound and he has kept some games close against tough opponents.
