In this interview, CTB Sports Director Derek Darr sat down with PC-H Head Girls Basketball Coach Dennis Hard to discuss the upcoming Skeltur Conference Tournament.
Coach began by talking about how the season has been going with the tough schedule.
“It has been tough. I feel like we’ve…played pretty well, but the bigger class, you’re going to run into bigger athletes. And it’s just hard to win those games…I feel like the girls have done a good job of trying to go and compete. Our focus has always been—since the year started—us getting ready for the playoffs. And I’m hoping the Skeltur gives us a chance to see that this tough schedule has helped us get a little more physical and maybe a little mentally tougher too. ”
Hart discussed what the game plan is against the Cashion Lady Wildcats.
“Well, they’ve got two 6’1 girls, [a] six-foot girl that comes in, and then [about] four girls who can shoot; so it is going to be a challenge. We had early practice yesterday morning (Monday, Jan. 20)…and what we talked about was that we’re going to have to be really focused on who we are defensively and to make sure that we’re, you know, tuned in to what we’re trying to do on defense. Try to slow them down as much as we can.”
