At Boone Pickens Stadium at 2:30 pm this Saturday, the Oklahoma State Cowboys will take on the Oklahoma Sooners in what may be the last-ever Bedlam game (listen to the broadcast on 107.1 KNID). The Cowboys are red hot after starting the season in horrendous fashion with a blowout home loss to South Alabama.

They then lost to Iowa State a team thought to be one of the Big 12’s worst at the time, now Iowa State is jockeying for position at the top of the Big 12. Since their early season woes, the Cowboys have rattled off victories against West Virginia, Kansas State, and Kansas.

The Jayhawks and Wildcats are now ranked. Part of the reason for the Cowboy’s success is the dominant play of Ollie Gordon III who leads the nation in rushing yards, the Cowboys have also found consistent play at QB from Alan Bowman after starting the year with a 3 QB system.

However don’t count the Sooners out yet, they still have possibly the best win in the country against No. 7 Texas and despite looking shaky at times they have always found a way to win outside of a shocking road loss against a good Kansas team.

Dillon Gabriel is still one of the best quarterbacks in the Big 12 and the Sooners have elite athletes on defense that can make things tough for the Cowboys offense. The Sooners also have a strong offensive line and run game that will be tough to stop.

Also, the Sooners won’t be overlooking Oklahoma State, they know if they want any chance at making the college football playoffs they can’t make any more mistakes. They know a win over a surging Cowboys team would be just what the doctor ordered.
