Several Big 12 squads made it to Bowl Season, here is a breakdown of all the remaining Big 12 Bowl Games.

UNION HOME MORTGAGE GASPARILLA BOWL

UCF (6-6) VS. GEORGIA TECH (6-6)

Friday, December 22, 2023 | 5:30 p.m. CT | Raymond James Stadium; Tampa, FL | ESPN/ESPN+

The Golden Knights struggled in their 1st year of Big 12 play however they were able to become bowl-eligible, the only recent addition from the American Conference to the Big 12 to do so. They will be taking on a Georgia Tech team that gave Georgia all they could handle, hard to see the Golden Knights coming out on top.

Prediction: Georgia Tech

GUARANTEED RATE BOWL

KANSAS (8-4) VS. UNLV (9-4)

Tuesday, December 26, 2023 | 8:00 p.m. CT | Chase Field; Phoenix, AZ | ESPN/ESPN+

The Kansas Jayhawks finished the year strong with an 8-4 record their best year since the Orange Bowl victory in the 2007-2008 season. However, with several injuries at quarterback, the Jayhawk faithful are left wondering if the year could have been even better. They will be taking on a talented UNLV team without offensive coordinator Andy Kotelnicki who left for the the Penn State OC position. I still expect the Jayhawks to pull out the victory.

Prediction: Kansas

DUKE’S MAYO BOWL

NORTH CAROLINA (8-4) VS. WEST VIRGINIA (8-4)

Wednesday, December 27, 2023 | 4:30 p.m. CT | Bank of America Stadium; Charlotte, NC | ESPN/ESPN+

North Carolina had a strong but disappointing 8-4 season, more was expected from a team that boasted projected top 10 draftee Drake Maye at quarterback and was ranked in the top 10 at one point in the year. With Maye sitting this one out expect the Mountaineers to pull out the victory.

Prediction: West Virginia

TAXACT TEXAS BOWL

20 OKLAHOMA STATE (9-4) VS. TEXAS A&M (7-5)

Wednesday, December 27, 2023 | 8:00 p.m. CT | NRG Stadium; Houston, TX | ESPN/ESPN+

Check out our breakdown we did earlier in the week.

Prediction: Oklahoma State

POP-TARTS BOWL

25 KANSAS STATE (8-4) VS. 18 NC STATE (9-3)

Thursday, December 28, 2023 | 4:45 p.m. CT | Camping World Stadium; Orlando, FL | ESPN/ESPN+

It’s been a rough offseason for the Wildcats who lost starting Quarterback Will Howard to the transfer portal and offensive coordinator Collin Klein to Texas A&M. However freshman QB Avery Johnson is being hyped as possibly the future best quarterback in program history. While that remains to be seen, Johnson is legit, expect him to get the job done.

Prediction: Kansas State

VALERO ALAMO BOWL

12 OKLAHOMA (10-2) VS. 14 ARIZONA (9-3)

Thursday, December 28, 2023 | 8:15 p.m. CT | Alamodome; San Antonio, TX | ESPN/ESPN+

Check out our breakdown we did earlier in the week.

Prediction: Oklahoma

AUTOZONE LIBERTY BOWL

IOWA STATE (7-5) VS. MEMPHIS (9-3)

Friday, December 29, 2023 | 2:30 p.m. CT | Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium; Memphis, TN | ESPN/ESPN+

The Iowa State Cyclones were playing excellent football to finish the year after a rough start, they have a well balanced team and should be able to handle a 9-3 Group of Five school.

Prediction: Iowa State

ALLSTATE SUGAR BOWL (CFP SEMIFINAL)

3 TEXAS (12-1) VS. 2 WASHINGTON (13-0)

Monday, January 1, 2024 | 7:45 p.m. CT | Caesars Superdome; New Orleans, LA | ESPN

It seemed unlikely going into Championship Weekend but the Texas Longhorns are College Football playoff bound, they have a tough matchup in the Washington Huskies who ran roughshod over a Pac 12 that was tougher than it had been in years. Washington also has a case for the best quarterback in the nation in Michael Penix Jr. However, Texas is back for the 1st time in nearly a decade the Longhorns boast one of the best rosters in college football on both sides of the ball. Expect Ewers and company to lead the Longhorns to the National Championship. However the Michigan Wolverines may be too much for a resurgent Texas to handle in the National Championship game.

Prediction: Texas

Overall Projected Big 12 Bowl Record: 8-2

Expect it to be a strong bowl season for the Big 12 Conference.
