EnidLIVE’s Colby Talley sat down with the head coach of Seiling Football Gary Manuel to discuss their upcoming matchup against Okeene.
Manuel talked about what he wants to see from the defense after the unit gave up 44 points to Dewar last Friday.
“We’ve got to do a better job in the secondary, and that starts with me…We blew a lot of coverages, but they did a good job of what they were doing. I thought Dewar’s offensive coordinator called one heck of a game, and we just got to do a better job… switch things up in the secondary to make us a lot better on defense.”
Then, Manuel broke down the Okeene Whippets and what its going to take to beat them.
“They’re really good on both sides of the football…I think their offensive line [is] playing at a high level. Quarterback is playing really, really well. Throws the ball well, has great receivers, [and] has really good running backs. They pose a lot of problems for us on both sides of the football defensively. They’re really physical at the point of attack. Five guys in the box are really, really physical, and they do a great job in the secondary covering and keeping the ball in front of them. We’re going to have our work cut out for us, and we’ve got to do some things on our end to kind of help ourselves out a little bit and do some things better than we did last week, or we’re going to be in trouble.”
