Enidlive.com spoke with Ward 1 Commissioner Candidate Judd Blevins who is challenging the incumbent Commissioner Jerry Allen. On why he is running Blevins said “I have some concerns about some of the decisions that have been made over the past 4 years with the current commission and I feel that we need new leadership, new conservative leadership on the city council”.

Having an “efficient city government” is also among Judd’s priorities if elected. Judd previously served in the United States Marine Corps and talked about how that experience would have him prepared if he became commissioner saying “The marine corps certainly prepared me for high-stress situations”. Judd noted the high-stress atmosphere of city commission meetings in 2020 over the many controversial issues and decisions during that time. Below is Judd’s biography from his campaign website.

“I am a fifth-generation Oklahoman.  My family staked claims in the 1893 Land Run.  I graduated from Kremlin-Hillsdale, attended Northern Oklahoma College, and received a bachelor’s degree from Northwestern Oklahoma State University.

In 2007, I deployed to Iraq with my U.S. Marine Corps unit.  After my honorable discharge from the service, I returned to Enid to take over my father’s business, which continues to service the Enid area”.
