The City of Enid has rescheduled its Independence Day fireworks display – which was moved back due to a thunderstorm – for Saturday, July 10.

The fireworks will be fired at Meadowlake Park at roughly 9:30 p.m., or whenever dusk arrives.

The park will also play host to a bevy of other activities leading up to the fireworks, many of which were also scheduled for the original Independence Day Celebration. Miniature golf and sno cones will be available from 6-10 p.m., while the Enid Kiwanis Club Rides will be open from 6-9 p.m.

The Enid Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of music director Douglas Newell, will perform in the park at 8:30 p.m., playing into the theme of “The Night Sousa Came to Town”.

Parking will be available on the north side of the park exclusively for those with disabled vehicle tags, members of the Enid Symphony Orchestra and workers for the Enid Kiwanis Club Rides and concession stand. Additionally, several roads including West Rupe Ave. at Van Buren, S. Van Buren Access Road at West Rupe Ave. and West Rupe Ave. at South Johnson St. will be closed for the safety of spectators, motorists and event staff.

After the fireworks display, traffic from both Meadowlake Park and the golf course will both be directed west on Rupe Ave., with traffic from the park being sent towards South Johnson St. and traffic from the golf course being sent towards Cleveland St. Also, traffic on Van Buren south of West Moore Ave. will be directed either east onto West Moore Ave. of south onto Van Buren toward Southgate Rd. A section of Van Buren north of West Moore Ave. will also be closed.
