CTB Sports Director Derek Darr sat down with the Chisholm Head Football Coach Cameron Condor to talk about the upcoming season.

The coach began by sharing how spring practices went:

“Spring went as planned. You take a little bit different approach to the spring when it’s not your first year. There’s a lot more ‘working on specific teaching instead of install’. And so, just trying to master a lot of the things that we had installed last year, and we have a tremendous group of returners coming back. And so, spring was more just [getting] back in the swing of things and get going and get the football feel back in the kids.”

Coach Condor shared what makes a good summer program, especially with other summer events:

“It sets the tone for everything that we’ve got coming. We haven’t really broken down the numbers yet, but we really try and get kids to number one be kids in the summer, but at the same time, give a level of commitment to this program because number one for the next sport up. And so, we really shoot for that 100% attendance is obviously ideal, but with church camp and vacations, just life happening, I’m very understanding if you’re ready to go come football season. That’s one thing, but we really push for them to have an 80% attendance that gives them a little bit of wiggle room to enjoy themselves, but at the same time get some stuff done.”
