In this interview, CTB Sports Director Derek Darr sat down with the Enid Head Football Coach Chris Ellerich to talk about the upcoming game against Midwest City.

The Coach began by sharing the positives from last week’s game against Ponca City:

“I think the first thing that we took from that game is [that] I absolutely loved and respect the fight that our kids showed. I think they played their tails off. We had a bunch of kids out there kind of snapping in a week-zero game. And man, we played a really physical, tough game. I think that’s the biggest positive. I think the second positive you take away from it is that our defense played really well against an offense that’s difficult to prepare for. And plus, Ponca’s a really good team this year. I think our defense played really, really well. So I think those would be the two bright spots coming off of week zero.”

Coach Ellerick gave some insight on the Midwest City lineup and what to expect:

“They’ve got some big-play guys on offense. Tall receiver number seven, big play guy. And then really running back is a smaller-statured kid, incredibly quick and fast. And we’re going to have to do a great job pinning him up before he gets out in the open field. Defensively, kind of what you would expect to see from Midwest City. Big, up-front, and talented athletes in the secondary. I’m excited to see what we can do offensively against them.”
