A Crash Occurred Near Pond Creek in Grant County on Monday, October 17

A personal injury collision occurred on Monday, October 17 at 4:40 at Country Road 970 and Country Road Grady near Pond Creek. The crash involved the driver of a Toyota Corolla with one passenger and the driver of a Ford F150 with one passenger. The Toyota was heading northbound on Road 970 and stopped at the stop sign. He pulled out in front of the Ford and got struck by it.

Miller EMS transported both the driver of the Toyota and their passenger to Integris Bass Baptist Hospital in Enid, Oklahoma, and then flown by Air Evac to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The driver was admitted for trunk internal and trunk external injuries, while the passenger was admitted for the same injuries, as well as head, leg, and arm injuries. The passenger was pinned in the vehicle for approximately 20 minutes and had to be extricated by the Pond Creek Fire Department with the Jaws of Life.

The driver of the Ford and his passenger were transported by Miller EMS to St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Enid, Oklahoma, and treated and released.

The crash was investigated by Trooper Linda Hartley #340 of the Woods County Detachment of Troop J, and assisted by Trooper Kristopher Franta #743 of the Woods County Detachment of Troop J, Grant County Sheriff’s Office, Pond Creek Fire Department, and Miller EMS.
