City of Enid officials have entered talks with Golden Ticket Cinema in an attempt to organize financing for a new movie theater.

While a deal has yet to be struck, the hypothetical theater would be built at The District, a retail development at the corner of West Owen K. Garriott Rd. and Cleveland St. The theater would feature seven screens.

A hearing will be held in August for the consideration of the Garfield County Industrial Authority’s plans to issue revenue bonds totaling $10 million. The bonds would not raise taxes for Enid citizens, nor would it require a public vote. Additionally, those bonds would be repaid by Golden Ticket Cinema.

The Industrial Authority is working through legal requirements for the 10-step process for the project. At the time of writing, the Industrial Authority is only about halfway through this process.
