Covington Man Among 30 COVID-19-related Deaths on Wednesday

(Enid, OK) A Covington man was reported among the 30 COVID-19-related deaths, alongside 1,660 new COVID-19 cases statewide, reported by Oklahoma State Department of Health on Wednesday.

COVID-19 cases in Garfield County increased by 15 on Wednesday for an overall total of 7,267 since the pandemic started last March, with 345 cases being active in the county.

Of the 30 deaths, 21 were in the 65 and older age group including three men and three women in Tulsa County, three men and one woman in Oklahoma County, one man and one woman in Cleveland County, one man each in Garvin, Comanche, Pottawatomie, Garfield, Wagoner, and Muskogee counties and one woman each in Carter, Canadian and Creek counties.

Seven of the deaths were in the 50-64 age group including one man each in Grady, Caddo, Seminole, Tulsa and Cleveland counties and one woman each in Oklahoma and Haskell counties. Two deaths were also reported in the 36-49 age group men in Osage and Tulsa counties.

Other Northwest Oklahoma county case increases Wednesday included six in Noble, five in Kingfisher, three in Blaine and two in Grant County.
