Enid Public Schools has announced the groundbreaking ceremony for the Eisenhower Elementary building on June 18 at 11:30 a.m.
The ceremony will take place east of the playground on the basketball court behind the existing school.
The project reflects the ongoing commitment of Enid Public Schools to providing modern, safe and effective learning environments.
The U.S. Department of Defense is funding about 80% of the project, with the total cost being $28.2 million.
EPS Superintendent Dr. Dudley Darrow extends his gratitude to the community for its support of the elementary building.
“We are incredibly grateful for the community’s support of Eisenhower Elementary,” he said. “This groundbreaking is more than just the start of a construction project; it is an investment in the future of our students, Vance Air Force Base, and the Eagle family.”
The new facility will have a capacity of 350 students supporting pre-kindergarten through fifth grade with new classrooms, equipment, exemplary staff, and learning tools.
