(Enid, OK) A new department clothing store could be coming to Enid as the newly recommended rebate agreement was passed Tuesday evening, at the city commissioners meeting, to help developers renovate part of the former Kmart building.

TLM Realty, the building developer, is eligible for a 2% sales tax rebate that will not exceed $1 million or 10 years, whichever happens first, according to the agreement unanimously approved by Enid city commissioners’ executive session.

The rebate would assist with offsetting costs to renovate the available 40,000 square feet of the building located near the intersection of Garriott and Oakwood, according to a city of Enid press release.

A tenant of the vacant space would be a department store that would carry items including clothing and household items, according to the release.

TLM Realty has been actively pursuing options for the tenant.

Tractor Supply and Harbor Freight are the only two businesses in the space after Kmart’s closure in 2018.
