Plainsmen Holding LLC., a partnership consisting of Enid natives Jason Singer, Aaron Singer, Chad Dillingham and Troy Phillips announced on Tuesday plans to develop Project Thunderbird which will bring a new data center and power corridor to Garfield County.
Project Thunderbird is intended to be an infrastructure initiative to support long-term economic growth in Enid and Garfield County. The project is expected to bring in millions of dollars in new revenue for Enid schools and city services while not raising taxes or utility bills for residents.
The project is planned to take up roughly 1,735 acres of land across four different campuses in Enid, including an on-site power generation facility of up to 3.3 gigawatts. This facility will be propelled via a partnership with a natural gas midstream energy provider.
Project Thunderbird also intends to cool the data center with water from the Kaw Lake Pipeline, providing the facility with a renewable source of raw water. As opposed to traditional systems other data center use, the one being built in Enid will use advanced closed-loop cooling technology.
The project will feature a corresponding infrastructure initiative called the Patriot Utility District, which will provide Vance Air Force Base with back-up energy by using hardened power and fiber infrastructure.
