A single-vehicle accident five miles south of Loyal, OK in Kingfisher County on Sunday evening has led to the death of the driver.
Aaron C. Standlee, 42, of Meeker was headed northbound on N2740 Rd. at around 7 p.m. on Sunday before losing control of the 2001 Peterbilt 379 he was driving near the bend of East 770 Rd. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported that Standlee then tried to steer back onto the road, but the truck rolled over when it reentered the roadway.
The truck lost the trailer it was hauling and eventually came to a rest on its passenger side. Standlee was reportedly partially ejected through the roof of the vehicle; he was reported deceased at the scene.
OHP has reported the cause of the accident as inattention. The condition of Standlee at the time of the accident is currently under investigation.
