Waynoka Resident Injured in Accident

(Hopeton, OK) A Waynoka resident was hospitalized after suffering injuries in a two-vehicle accident in Woods County Thursday morning.

29-year-old Olga Romo was taken to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City. Romo was admitted, in serious condition, with head and chest injuries, according to a report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

The accident occurred at 10:16 a.m. at the intersection of U.S. 281 and Craig Road, about 2½ miles south of Hopeton.

71-year-old Dwight Kistner, a resident of Waverly, Kansas, was in a 2007 Kenworth west on Craig Road when he failed to adhere at a stop sign and hit Romo’s 2017 GMC Acadia.

Kistner was treated at Share Medical Center in Alva and released.

Conditions of both drivers were normal, according to the report, and the cause as failure to stop at a stop sign.
