In this interview, CTB Sports Director Derek Darr sat down with the Alva Head Boys Basketball Coach Ross Doanne to discuss the upcoming Wheat Capital Tournament.
The coach began by describing the difficulty of the tournament:
“It’s going to be a really tough tournament, and every year the Wheat Capital is always tough. We just expect to go in, compete, and try to get better in each game; maybe pull off an upset here or there.”
Coach Doanne gave some insight into the game against Heritage Hall in the tournament:
“I know that they’re really good and probably going to be the best team we’ve played this year, and we’ve played some really good teams. But it should be a challenge. I like playing a schedule like that because you get to see what you could be in the future. It’s one of those things that’s the goal to reach for, and so I like playing them—it’s a challenge.”
