In this interview, CTB Sports Director Derek Darr sat down with the Alva Head Football Coach Ryne Wilson to discuss the upcoming game against Chisholm.

The coach began by sharing how the team has been improving throughout the season so far:

“Our guys stepped up to the challenge. They got after it. Definitely a big improvement from Week 0 to Week 1. We still have a long way to go, but our guys, they fought; they did some really great things. They’re starting to settle into what we’re doing offensively. And they’re starting to figure some things out. Defensively, we’re pretty good against the run. We showed that against Perry.”

Coach Wilson gave some insight on the Chisholm Longhorns and what to expect from them:

“They are fast. They’re one of the best teams in 2A1 for a reason. They’re fast. They’re physical. They’re well-coached. They play with a little bit of swagger that they’ve deserved so far. They went toe-to-toe with Fairview over the last week, and it was a really close game. So any time you can go toe-to-toe and go to the wire with Fairview means you’re a pretty solid team. So they’re really well-coached. They do some really good things offensively. They use their playmakers in space. They do things that they need to do defensively. They’re really sound, big, physical, like to hit…we’re going to have our hands full [on] Friday.”
