In this interview, CTB Sports Director Derek Darr sat down with the Alva Head Girls Basketball Coach, Jeremy Jones, to discuss the upcoming Wheat Capital Tournament.
The coach started off by sharing some team insight:
“We wanted to start with a tough schedule. We have five seniors returning, but really three with lots of time. And then we get pretty young, and so we felt like we just needed to get out there and go to the Dale tournament and go to the Mustang tournament, kind of get seen by people. But we’re learning fast, you know, playing these great teams. We’re learning fast, and the girls are adjusting.”
Coach Jones shared what he likes about the Tournament:
“What I like about the Wheat Capital is we see some different teams every year…I’m excited to see Yukon; Woodward has Nathan Jones as the second-year coach…We [have] to take care of our business on Thursday morning. There are a lot of teams that could win this. So I think it’s more evened out.
