In this interview, CTB Sports Director Derek Darr sat down with Chisholm Head Football Coach Cameron Condor to discuss the upcoming match against Alva.

The coach gave some insight into what to expect from the Alva Goldbugs:

“They’re a formidable opponent. They’ve switched over from the flex bone to the spread. And so, they’re still finding their way a little bit. But I look forward to them coming out and [giving] us their best shot… [a] rivalry game between two communities that are in close proximity, and another reason why we scheduled that game again. And so, they’re gonna ome out a lot of 10 personnel formations and try to throw the ball around a little bit and keep us off balance with their running attack….They’re going to be prepared and play us in a 4-4 post safety. We gotta look to push the ball down the field and seams and rally focus on ourselves and clean up our mistakes, and then we’ll be fine.”

Coach Condor shared how the players adapt to the game when needed:

“The kids are extremely smart. And so, we can adapt accordingly to what we need to accomplish through the course of the game. Which hasn’t always been the case. But when you’ve got a smart group of kids, you can have our base offense and then expand from there and then do some things based on what the defense has given you. And our kids have adapted well thus far this season.”
