Full Interview With Fairview Head Football Coach Robert Bernard Previews Semi-Finals

The Fairview Yellow Jackets are moving on to the Class A State Semi-Finals where they will make their bid to return to the State Championship game for the 2nd straight year. Fairview is once again having a strong season behind the strong play of CTB All-Star QB Jax Bernard, WR Isaiah Burris, and DB Reed Martens. They will be taking on the Woodland Cougars on CTB Sports 1390,1640 am The CTB Sports app, and Enidlive.com.

The Yellow Jackets brought back most of their team on offense from the State Championship team a year ago and the offense has lived up to expectations, beating almost everyone in blowout form. Jax Bernard has 3 elite wide receivers who all returned from last year’s team. Including Isaiah Burris, Reed Martens, and Brant Strader.

However, the surprise of the year has been the dominance of the Fairview defense which added a bunch of new pieces. The defense boasts one of the best secondary and linebacker cores in Class A. Fairview hasn’t given up more than 22 points all season long. Led by players like Micah Wheeler, Ty Cotrill, and Trace Bonham.

Coach Bernard spoke about how his team will matchup against the Woodland Cougars, he compared the team to the Crescent Tigers who gave Fairview their toughest game of the season in the 2nd round of the playoffs noting a similar play style of power run football and similar formations.

Bernard said the key to the game will be winning the turnover battle, Fairview has been dominant with their only close games being against Alva, and Crescent, 2 games where the Yellow Jackets had several turnovers in the red zone. If the Yellow Jackets come out on top they will make the State Championship for the 2nd year in a row.
