In this interview, CTB Sports Director Derek Darr sat down with Medford Head Football Coach Blake Lamle to discuss the Grant County War Against PC-H.
The coach began by sharing how big the rivalry is for Medford:
“It’s a big rivalry anyway, and being ranked like that- like both of us are really high- adds to it. But also, that’s just a different part of it. These two teams have played great ballgames even when neither of them was ranked. I mean, it’s a great rivalry, one of the best in eight-man…We’re so close. People work in Medford; Medford people work in Pond Creek. You got friends and family on both sides of it.”
Coach Lamle gave some insight in the game against PC-H:
“We have to play our assignment and not try to do somebody else’s job. We’ve really stressed that this year, and I think that’s what made it better defensively is trusting the guy you’re playing with and doing your job.”
